I am married with one son, who is recently engaged and a Chicago Police Officer. I am a Licensed Social Worker with a Masters in Social Work. My mother lives with us and has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. I am currently not working and do believe the experience of caring for her will help me to be a better Social Worker.
Writing was not something I did as a child, but I did a lot of reading. My first glimpse into the fact that I had a talent for writing was when I wrote the story of my husband’s proposal to me. It was an essay for English 101 in college. I got an A on it and he commented that it was very good.
I get my talent from my mother, who got it from her father. There is no record of a lot of poems he wrote, but we have one and it is good. My mother’s poems were her way of telling everyone she cared. She invested a lot of time into writing poems. I have written poems too, which you can access at the top of the page where it says poetry.
While these writings are fiction, segments of the stories are combined with pieces of my life and my imagination. I love reading these stories, especially if I have been a way for awhile. It brings joy to my soul and I hope it does you too.
I hope you enjoy them too!
